I'm back!

Fri May 13, 2011, 7:44 PM
Wow, I have so neglected my DeviantART account. Hopefully in the next few months I'll get some free time back. My studies are starting to wrap up, I'm so excited! I'll hopefully graduate December this year and then I'm on hiatus from studying in 2012. ;-)

10hr drive tomorrow!

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 31, 2010, 7:48 PM

Oh what a week. I am on annual leave from work and I feel like I haven't had any time to relax. So busy studying to catch up and I had to do a test yesterday which I thankfully passed!! I almost considered starting a second degree too in applied social science (leadership), not sure yet.

My first day this week to relax so I've spent a bit of time watching tv and playing FFXIII - which I'm getting a little annoyed with. So many cut scenes! I hear the game doesn't give you freedom until about 25hrs in, I've played 6hrs.

All the hard work for study this week is so I can go away for 4 days starting tomorrow. We're driving interstate which pretty much consumes an entire day. :( Spend Saturday and Sunday with family then come back Monday to return to work Tuesday.

Final Fantasy XIII Collector's edition pre-ordered

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 4, 2010, 11:10 PM

OMG!!!! :omg: I finally got around to pre-ordering a copy of FFXIII for the PS3. I had two EB Games gift cards so I've used them to get the collector's edition. I so can't wait!! It comes out on the 9th of March but I do have to work that day. :crying: EB opens at 8am and I start work at 7am so as soon as the 8:30am team leader comes in, I'll be running over to get my copy!

A lot of reviews say the battle engine and graphics are unreal (xbox players aren't so happy with the graphics). Cut scenes should be awesome.

Back at uni

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 1, 2010, 1:47 AM

So uni starts back today...hooray...doing two subjects part time this semester, my full time job doesn't let me do anything more. One management subject and an IT infrastructure subject, should hopefully go ok. My studying starts tonight so I better jump to it. I'm hoping I'll be able to balance my time between studying, drawing and my love of photography.

We've moved!!

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 13, 2010, 3:08 PM

Finally! All our stuff is now at the new place, we moved in yesterday and hired a moving company to get our things across the city. Took 7.5 hours! So glad the job is done, now we can spend 2 months unpacking lol. :P

The place we're in now is a little bigger and so happy that we have a bit of a view of an oval with trees and plants. :D At our old place we were stuck between two buildings.

We're a 6min walk from the train station which gets us to the city in 17mins, this is good given I work in the CBD of Melbourne.

We have a cat and he wasn't too impressed about being driven across the city, he is having fun searching through all the boxes and finding little hideouts that he can disappear into. He settled down a lot quicker than I though, cats I've had in the past freak out for days and hide but my cat is sitting on the computer chair next to me sleeping. :aww:

Bad thing is, no Interwebs until Thursday. :( We're waiting for them to patch the exchange. Luckily I have a wireless broadband dongle from work so I can still go to DA daily and check my other usual sites!

Well, I'm off to unpack!

Japan visit in October!!

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 6, 2010, 6:21 PM

I'm getting so excited!! I'll be heading off to Japan for two weeks in October this year and then spend three days in Hong Kong before coming back to Australia. With a change over in Singapore we'll most likely fly in to Okinawa, another flight across to the mainland then travel through Japan by train up to Tokyo. I also want to visit Akihabara (I hear the crime is getting worse there though? :fear:).

Oh I'm going to bring so much stuff back!! We're going to have to get an extra suitcase

Anime addiction

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 6, 2010, 6:08 AM

Wow so a lot of my time has been spent watching anime lately!! I just finished the series Mai-Otome which was fantastic. It was a bit odd because they used the characters from the first series Mai-Hime yet the story and the characters relationships were different so it's not a sequel to the first. Started watching Macross Frontier again too, oh I so live this show, if you're an anime fan and haven't seen it yet please check it out. :D

For anyone interested, here's my anime list with what I've watched, what I'm watching and what I plan to watch [link]

The only running show I'm watching now is Bleach. I need to go choose another show to watch!! :w00t!:

Can I suggest, that you don't move unless you have enough money to cover bond and first rent payment? :)

We are so desperate to move given our landlord has increased the rent twice in two years, it's no longer worth what we're paying. So, we have been approved for a unit 10km from Melbourne which is good because I work in the city so commute on the train daily. Need to be as close as affordable, I can't understand how some people travel an hour or more to get to work. At a previous job it would take me 40-45mins and it was one minor reason why I quit.

I haven't had to pack our stuff in two years though, I am so not looking forward to boxing everything. :( Given we're in a very small place now, some of the non essential things are still in boxes so that's one positive.

Thankfully the move will be all done before uni starts in the first week of March too! Talk about timing. So, hopefully the 12th we'll pick up the keys. Unfortunately it means I won't get to draw much either, I've been working on improving my technique, I just hope the break won't make me forget anything! :sniff:

Hmm...I really don't say much do I lol? :) Well, things are as they are at the moment. Work is busy, I start back at uni in March...which I'm not looking forward to. I'm drawing a little more lately so will hopefully post something new soon. I'm probably spending too much of my time watching anime...Ah! My Goddess has me hooked and I've just finished watching Macross Frontier, it was friggin' awesome! If you haven't seen it and don't mind mecha, romance and singing, check it out.
